If I had a dollar for every time a lovely mama said:

"Oh, he sleeps all day long! This session will be a breeze!"

or

"Can you believe she's still awake? She usually never lasts this long!"

I’d be set!

Take a look at these adorable images from Mr. Hudson's newborn session. His mama was confident he’d be snoozing the whole time since his routine was all about sleeping during the day and staying awake at night. But Hudson had his own agenda that day! He shocked us by being wide awake for a whole hour after nursing. I rocked him back and forth, gently rubbed his tiny forehead, and sweetly shushed him, but that little guy was just so curious and bright-eyed! Eventually, though, the rocking worked its magic, and his eyes started to get heavy. I carefully posed him in this beautiful bed prop, and then the photo magic kicked in!

Newborn sessions are absolutely beautiful, but they can feel a bit like herding cats sometimes! Haha! Seriously, each session is unique. I can give you tips to help you prepare, and I make sure my studio is ready for all sorts of scenarios. But at the end of the day, it's your little one who calls the shots.

Sometimes we wrap things up in less than an hour, while other times we might take over four hours to capture those perfect moments. It really just depends on your baby's mood that day.

Here, the atmosphere is super relaxed. In fact, I’ve even had parents doze off during their newborn sessions! With all the calming white noise and gentle shushing, it’s hard not to!

And here’s a funny tidbit: I've had parents offer me extra money to keep their baby all swaddled up so they can enjoy a good night’s sleep!

Ultimately, I want you to know that there’s no rush here—I want both you and your baby to feel comfortable. And sometimes, I get to include siblings in the photos, which adds a whole extra layer of fun! But no matter how long the session takes, you can always count on loving the final images!
